Water Treatment › Reverse Osmosis Systems
Brackish Water/Reverse Osmosis
Water can not be found pure in nature. Due to its solvent structure, it contains many dissolved minerals and ions besides its own water molecules. These ions not only give water its own character, but also increase the electrical conductivity of water. Electrical conductivity concept is an important parameter for water and wastewater.
Demineralization processes means deionizing and purifying water. The most common used technology for these processes are reverse osmosis treatment systems. Water is filtered through a semi-permeable membrane under high pressure therefore low conductivity clean water is obtained.
Ion leaks are prevented by monitoring the outlet water with an automatic PLC system. The reverse osmosis system chemically clean itself when the membranes are fouled. It is recommended to use Hydrodis R859 Antiscalant for membranes in order to have a longer life.
