Iron-Manganese Removing Filter
The presence of iron and manganese, which are abundant in rocks, in high concentrations by dissolving in water causes toxic effects for humans. Although it is not found much in surface waters, iron and manganese are more common in underground waters depending on the geological structure and location of the water. Therefore, iron and manganese removal filters are used in waters which include high iron and manganese content. The presence of iron in the water causes the colour change, a rusty taste in the water and the increase of bacteria. In addition, iron and manganese removal in some sectors directly affects product quality and productivity.
By specific mineral selection made and iron and manganese are oxidized and that ions removed from the water by iron and manganese filters. Then, oxidized iron and manganese ions are kept in these filters and thrown out by backwashing.
Iron and manganese removal is widely used in drinking water, textile industry, tanneries, paper industry, food and water factories.
